Sappi Ideas that Matter (grant applicant)
Americans throw away 2.5 million plastic beverage bottles every hour, 25 billion styrofoam coffee cups and 100 billion plastic grocery bags every year. REFUSE IT proposes to create a successful pilot program to challenge at least 500 students from the College of Fine Arts and Design to REFUSE single use plastic for at least one semester. The goal: make REFUSING plastic a habit.
