The brainchild of Amy Jacobson-Peters, this is UCO Design’s all-design student back-to-school meeting where we built community, connected with first-year students, introduced the faculty, talked about the upcoming year and gave away some swag!
At the end of the event students knew all of us, they knew what we're into and—get this—they would talk to us, even if they aren't in our class! That's a big deal at a school where most students commute! And it worked—we created a new culture in just five years.
I was pleased to support and initiate this critical event/concept during my time as Department Chair and School Director.
